Alyssa is a Chicago-based scenic designer, scenic artist, and educator. Recent scenic design credits include Untitled Vampire Play (Lookingglass Theatre Company), Book Up! (Goodman Theatre), Short Shakespeare! A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Short Shakespeare! Romeo and Juliet (Chicago Shakespeare Theater), At the Wake of a Dead Drag Queen (Story Theatre), Black Cypress Bayou (Definition Theatre), Heroes and Slow Food (Third Avenue Playworks) and Athena (Urbanite Theatre). Alyssa is the current United Scenic Artists Local 829 Central Region Scenic Artist Apprentice. She is also a lecturer in Theater and Performance Studies at the University of Chicago. Alyssa holds a BFA in Scenic Design from The Theatre School at DePaul University and an MS in Sustainable Management from the University of Wisconsin. She strives to approach theatre through an ecocritical lens.

Alyssa resides in Rogers Park with her loving husband and two cats.
